The Rug Shop

We have now opened a new store in Workington Town Centre which specialises in rugs - rugs in many qualities, textures, weaves and to suit all budgets and tastes.

The Rug Shop represents choice, quality, keen pricing and, most importantly, a personal service second to none.

Rugs have been woven ever since mankind first learned to shear and spin wool - and are virtually a 'must have' item for every home. Despite that, for the customer they remain a difficult commodity to find in a good range - and most furnishers stock them as something of a sideline. Rugs are stocked in volume at our Taylor's Furnishings showroom - but The Rug Shops, 900 square feet or retail space, adds a new bright dimension to the town centre.

The Rug Shop stocks between 250 to 300 rugs - in several sizes (though the popular choices are 5ft x 3ft and 6ft x 4ft) and in a range that includes the best from rug-makers in Belgium, Turkey, Iran, Afghanistan, Bangladesh and from many countries which produce the flat, tapestry-woven rugs known as Kilims.
